Clusters running inside Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), a managed Kubernetes service, can be configured to emit detailed metrics in OpenTelemetry format. This allows you to monitor cluster, node, pod, and workload health in Cloud Observability via an OpenTelemetry Collector deployed in your cluster.
Follow the instructions in Cloud Observability’s Kubernetes Quickstart to start sending Google GKE metrics to Cloud Observability using the OpenTelemetry Operator.
Additional metrics from GKE are available through Cloud Observability’s direct integration with Google Cloud Monitoring.
