The following table shows the VPN metrics ingested by Cloud Observability.

| aws.vpn.tunnel_state | integer | The state of the tunnels. |
| aws.vpn.tunnel_data_in | bytes | The bytes received on the AWS side of the connection through the VPN tunnel from a customer gateway. |
| aws.vpn.tunnel_data_out | bytes | The bytes sent from the AWS side of the connection through the VPN tunnel to the customer gateway. |
